An original contemporary abstract landscape painting inspired by remote and open spaces in Scotland. The painting playfully interprets horizon lines, colour, marks and patterns in the landscape. It is a mixed media painting on plywood – predominantly using acrylic paints – and uses such processes as layering, scraping, re-painting and distressing.
The painting is made by remembering a moment, and a place. I find inspiration while walking in nature – armed with a basic knowledge of the physical geography of the landscape, a geekish interest in maps and cloud formation and a desire to explore and breathe in the intoxicating wilderness air. I like to explore the visual tensions that arise when sky meets sea meets land, and I translate these experiences into bold, striking and abstract depictions of a place.
The landscape painting is presented in a white box frame which measures 18cm high x 18cm wide x 3.5cm deep. The size of the painting is 12cm high x 12cm wide. The painting that you will receive does not have a watermark. It comes with a ‘Genuine Original Artwork’ guarantee and is signed by the artist
The painting will be sent wrapped in tissue paper for protection, then further wrapped in biodegradable bubble wrap, brown kraft paper and tied together with jute string. The painting will be wrapped in additional packaging material so that it arrives with you in the safest way possible.
