A big celebration of summer with outdoor weaving and summer dream catchers
Day 1: We started off the summer holiday session with some lovely weaving outside on my giant tapestry weaving frame. Little fingers soon got to grips with the tricky technique of pulling the back warp forwards and threading their chosen weft through. There were plenty of colours and materials to choose from –  wool, paper and some even added lovely scented lavender from the garden.

Day 2 & 3: Dream catchers! We spent the last 2 session busy making our dream catchers. There were lots of different processes – we tried wrapping, binding, knot tying, beading and pom-pom making! Lovely summery colours and all finished off with some bright coloured feathers. This activity was a bit of a technical challenge, but everyone did so well and they all went away with some new skills.

Day 3: We wound up the session with a quick activity of wand making – both fairy and wizard wands!! Similar techniques – wrapping, tying and beading. The children were so excited with all their results!! A lovey start to the summer workshops.
